From an early age, Besiana knew she wanted to pursue a career in medicine—both because of her interest in science and because of her passion for providing people with care. While studying nursing at the College of Mount Saint Vincent (CMSV) in the Bronx, she traveled across the world—from Appalachia to Africa—on mission trips, providing communities with medical education and care. Her first job after becoming a board-certified nurse was in Kenya, treating patients and prescribing medication.
After returning home, she set on a path to become a medical jack of all trades. For five years, she worked as a nurse in emergency medicine at Lenox Hill Hospital, gaining experience with hands-on, high-pressure environments and providing patient-driven care. She went on to earn her Masters to become a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) through CMSV, completing her residency at Weill Cornell’s Emergency Medicine Department during the height of COVID-19. This solidified her expertise in providing comprehensive care that both treats and supports patients.
Equipped with this experience, Besiana started to focus on what was always her goal: plastic surgery and dermatology. As a young girl, she struggled with acne until she worked with a dermatologist to explore different treatments, becoming more confident in her own skin along the way. Now a medical professional, she completed courses across the country in lasering, microneedling, injections, and more, creating a thorough knowledge base on the best and latest plastic surgery technologies and procedures. She spent a year at a renowned New York Botox studio, where she worked under leaders in the field to learn all there is about skincare and injections.
Now at Rowe Plastic Surgery, Besiana is committed to providing patients with the highest standard of care from consultation to post-op. With extensive experience, her priority remains working with her patients to make them happy with the skin they’re in and facilitating the smoothest recovery. In her spare time, she loves to dig up unique vintage finds, take photographs, and—of course—learn about Lasers!
