Born and raised in China, Dr. Xu came to the US as an exchange student at Harvard University during college on a research fellowship. He then joined the PhD program at Washington University in St Louis, spending 6 years doing cutting edge research in its world-renowned immunology program. He also spent one year at Dartmouth College for further research.
Wanting to translate his research into clinical practice, he earned an MD at Yale School of Medicine, before completing training as a plastic surgeon in New York City at one of the most competitive integrated plastic surgery residency program at Albert Einstein College of Medicine / Montefiore Medical Center under the mentorship of Dr. Evan Garfein, Dr. Steven Levine and other leading reconstructive and cosmetic plastic surgeons. After finishing his training in NYC, he elected to spend months in high volume centers in China for additional training in East Asian cosmetic surgery and microsurgery, in order to better serve his patients’ clinical needs.
In addition to an impressive academic training, he also published multiple peer-reviewed research papers and book chapters on biomedical sciences and plastic surgery.
He is specialized in all aspects of plastic surgery with a special interest in natural results in face, breasts and body. He also has unique experiences in Asian cosmetic procedures. Now he joins Rowe Plastic Surgery to serve all of your cosmetic and reconstructive needs.
